My husband wanted stuffed cabbage but I was not in the mode to boil cabbage leaves so I came up with this delightful dish. This was another smash hit.
Items neede:
Shallow baking dish
Fry pan
Ingredients:
1.5 lbs of cooked ground beef (we used fresh from Urban Farm in Crestview)
8 cabbage leaves
leftover sauce from previous chicken dish.
1 can of rotelle tomato mild
1 can tomato paste
1 TBSP Italian seasoning
2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
Lay 6 cabbage leaves up so you can fill them. Break up remaining leaves to over any cracks. Spoon the ground beef in to cover bottom. Next spoon tomato sauce over meat and add a slice of mozzarella cheese. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes pull dish out of cover to fold the cabbage leaves over the cheese. Now put back in over for 10 minutes.
