Traveling
Day 3 Continued…
We arrived at A. J. Jolly Park and Campground at 10:00 in the dark night! Of course, You are asking why we got there so late, well, we had another tire blow out and not the same one but the same side. The tire went flat just in time for 3 people to pull up next to us to tell us we had a flat and were driving on the rim. At this time our alerts on our phones went off to let us know we were under a serve thunderstorm and flash flood warning for the area we were in. The Walmart was still 3 long miles away. In the pouring rain we pulled over and Tom and Jimm pulled the tire off and placed our spare on and off to Walmart we went. This was a 2.5 hour delay in our trip.
We were greeted by a bunch of geese landing in the water right behind our campers. I asked Jimm if I was going to have to listen to that all night. He told me no beacuse they were going to sleep. Some of the campsites here are backwards. they have electricity on the right and water on the left. (the left is were all should be). It is a nice quiet place (except for the geese). We were also the only ones at this section of the campsite. Kentucky is beautiful.
Day 3 packing up
Today is pack up and move on to Alexandria, Ky, A. J. Jolly Park and Campground. Everything is going smooth. We found a Geocache in the Kentucky Welcome Rest Area. I now have Kentucky. Lunch was peaches, hard boiled eggs and strawberries. It was actually good. Oh we also ate a brownie.
We will be heading to either Noah’s Ark and The Creation Museum over the 3 days.
Pictures will be posted soon.
Day 2 at David Crocket
We got up and took showers and we received some bad news (not going to share). The day was slow and excitement was diminished but we went on.
Mom-in-law meet us at her church and had a prayer circle for her pastor. He was not feeling very well. This was a good sermon and one all should hear. I am excited that I am saved and Christ is my savior.
Lunch was at a local Resturant called Legends. Awesome food.
We spent the day getting a new tire, battery, and propane. I did not find a geocache today but I did scan a Munzee. Mom spent the day running around with us. The day got better and we all enjoyed each other’s company.
Overall a good day.
Day 1 at David Crocket State Park
Our Day was wonderful and had an ok start. We hit our own mailbox upon leaving our driveway. The mailbox will most likely need to be replaced upon return home.
We managed to get to our lunch stop without any traffic but we noticed that our camper battery was dead. DEAD. Our fridge only had power when our camper was directly plugged in to electricity or it was hooked up to our running truck.
Next: we arrived at our first stop, David Crocket State Park in TN. This campsite has very small sites. We had an audience while backing up. Everyone there stopped to tell us about our flat. LOL We arrived with a flat tire on the camper that was so flat while we backed up into our site on the rim. The rim was not damaged.
Dinner time! We discovered we had a leak on the propane tank and could not cook. We ate with our friends.
My mom-in-law meet us at the camp site. We had a good rest of the night/day.
End of day we needed a new mailbox, battery, tire, and propane tank.
